Richard Conyngham

Richard Conyngham (b 1984, South Africa) is a writer and researcher, currently living in Mexico City. He studied at both Cape Town University in South Africa and Cambridge.

Conyngham has worked in both the education and literary fields for many years in organi­sations such as Equal Education, The Bookery, and Ndifuna Ukwazi. As a writer, he has been a contributor to the London magazine Slightly Foxed.

In his graphic history All Rise: Resistance and Rebellion in South Africa 1910-1948, using his research, he collaborated with various South African graphic artists and illustrators to bring to life six stories of defiance against the racist regime from a time rarely spoken of in South African history, the period just before apartheid.
