With chalk dust on their hands: women and strength training
Doing strength training is a matter of course today for women who want to keep fit. But it was not always thus. Until quite recently, this was taboo – at least outside the home.
Knäböj is a book about women and strength training. It details how females have faced opposition and suspicion for wanting to bodybuild and lift heavy weights. Drawing inspiration from literature and research, journalist Sara Martinsson writes knowledgably and from personal experience about the history of female strength training as an idea, from “strong women” to today’s online influencers.
She will be interviewed by Sandra Lillebø, who also knows a thing or two about strength training.
The conversation will be in Norwegian.
