Wake: The hidden history of women-led slave revolts

Revolts by African slaves, both on the ships carrying them and later in America, are well-known. What has been excluded from history and forgotten is that these were largely led in the USA by enslaved women.

American author and activist Rebecca Hall has blown the dust off a neglected subject and written a graphic memoir entitled Wake – The Hidden History of Women-Led Slave Revolts. The author will be interviewed by students.

Closed event for schools (will also be streamed).
