Rebecca Hall

Rebecca Hall (b 1963, USA ) is an American historian, lawyer and activist. 

She is particularly interested in Afro-American history, feminist theory and the relationship between gender, law and justice. She has been active in the climate and women’s movements, for LGBT rights and in Black Lives Matters, and has campaigned against nuclear weapons, apartheid and US militarism. 

Wake: The Hidden History of Women-Led Slave Revolts, illustrated by Hugo Martínez, is a graphic novel but also a memoir. Hall deals here with the unknown history of the role played by women in leading slave revolts.
