Sea and love
It is hardly surprising that the vast oceans have been the source for much of world literature. Salt water covers more than 70 per cent of the Earth’s surface, and the depths beneath still hide many of the world’s mysteries.
French author and Prix Goncourt winner Yann Queffélec has written a Dictionnaire amoureux de la mer, which has been warmly received in his homeland. He meets Per Anders Todal, author of the critically praised book Havlandet (Land of the Sea), for a discussion on how the sea creates myths, identities and – every so often – great literature. Their conversation will be moderated by critic Margunn Vikingstad.
The conversation will be in English.
