Norwegian grief
How has Norway mourned after 22 July 2011? And how has this grief been treated in the arts? First came the factual accounts, then the literary – novels and poetry – and now the films. What characterises this literature, and how does the fictional treatment differ from the factual in the way mourning is described?
Aage Storm Borchgrevink published the non-fiction account En norsk tragedie in 2012, Brit Bildøen’s novel Sju dagar i august came in 2015, the Vandreutstillinger poetry collection was issued by Cecilie Løveid in 2017. Their conversation will be moderated by professor Anne Gjelsvik, who researches Utøya-related literature and film.
The conversation will be in Norwegian.
