Brit Bildøen

Tove Breistein

Brit Bildøen (b 1962, Norway) made her literary debut in 1991 with the poetry collection Bilde av menn, and has since written children’s books, novels and essays as well as working as a translator.

Her books have been translated into several languages and she has won various literary awards – most recently the P2 listeners’ novel prize for Sju dagar i august (2014). This book, which deals with everyday life and sorrow after a terrorist attack where one of the main protagonists loses their daughter, also made the long list for the Dublin Literary Award.

Bildøen has received good reviews for Tre vegar til havet, published in 2018.
