Trond Bakkevig

Trond Bakkevig (b. 1948, Norway) is a dean in Vestre Aker, Oslo Diocese. He was previously the  Secretary General of the Council on Ecumenical and International Relations, a personal advisor to Norwegian Ministers of Foreign Affairs Knut Frydenlund and Thorvald Stoltenberg.

Bakkevig is a regular columnist for the newspaper Aftenposten,  having written various scientific newspaper articles on nuclear weapons, the social and ethical responsibilities of the church, the relationship between state and church, and other various theological topics.

He has also written Dagbøker fra Jerusalem: 20 år som brobygger mellom religion og politikk (2017) and Den norske kirke og kampen mot apartheid (1995).
