Moses in the Bible, Quran and Tanakh
Moses is one of the most central figures in Christianity, Islam and Judaism - the three monotheistic religions that all originated in the Middle East. It was Moses who led the people of Israel out of slavery in Egypt and who received the Ten Commandments and holy laws from God.
In today's geopolitical situation, religion is used by many to deepen and perpetuate divisions and conflict. LitFestBergen asks: Can a shared respect for Moses form a basis for dialogue and cooperation between people belonging to Christianity, Judaism and Islam? The panel includes retired priest Trond Bakkevig, Rabbi Joav Melchior and Imam Senaid Kobilica. The moderator is journalist Hilde Sandvik.
The conversation is in Norwegian, with simultaneous translation into English.
