Nimmi Gowrinathan

Nimmi Gowrinathan (b 1980, USA) is a writer, researcher, professor and activist.

She is the founder and director of the Politics of Sexual Violence Initiative, a global study examining the impact of rape on women’s political identities in extremist movements at the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership, City College New York, where she is a visiting professor. She has worked as an expert liaison for the UN in many contexts.

She is also the founder and publisher of a new US-based literary journal called Adi and a contributor to Guernica, an arts and politics magazine.
