Kjartan Hatløy

Kjartan Hatløy (b 1954, Norway) is a poet and currently resides in Hyllestad.

Hatløy is a qualified ship’s plumber and has worked at the Løland Shipyard for many years. In 1991 he studied philosophy at the University of Bergen.

His debut poetry collection Solreven was published in 1996. His fourteenth poetry collection Vere og døy – døy og vere was published in 2022, and in 2017 Dikt I Samling was pub­lished. In 2017 German filmmaker Frank Wierke produced a documentary about Hatløy. In 2021 Hatløy was awarded the Doubloug Prize for his work.
