When Ziggy played guitar

The British public was introduced to Ziggy Stardust on 6 July 1972, when David Bowie appeared on the BBC programme Top of the Pops. His four-minute performance of Starman changed music history and the collective consciousness – not least for a new generation of musicians.

Dylan Jones has written about this moment and on Ziggy Stardust, and can also say something about who Bowie was after interviewing 180 friends, partners and other people important to the songwriter for his book David Bowie – a life.

Editor of the GQ magazine in 1995-2021, Jones has worked earlier for i-D, Arena, The Face, The Observer and The Sunday Times. He has written a number of books about music, including the bestseller Jim Morrison: Dark Star.

Jones will be interviewed by journalist in Dagens Næringsliv, Audun Vinger.

The event will be in English.
