Call to change dusty attitudes

Håndbok for unge antirasister by Tinashe Williamson is informative and engrossing, and calls for the most important requirement of all – dialogue. Through 10 chapters and 10 fictional characters, Williamson answers questions about what racism actually is, why representation is important, and what to say when you see somebody being discriminated against because of the colour of their skin.

Racism is a difficult subject for adults to navigate, which means many find it particularly hard to talk about it with their children. Because what can you say? Where should you start?

This involving, inclusive and instructive book is written in textbook format, with exercises and discussion topics which children can easily cover with adults at home or in their class at school. The aim is to pass the baton on to the younger generation, and get them to feel that they have the power to change the world.

Introduction by the author and an interview. The audience will have an opportunity to put questions.

The event will be in Norwegian.
