Vanessa Springora

Vanessa Springora (b 1972, France) is an author, film director, and head of Éditions Julliard. She studied literature at Lycée Fénélon and the Sorbonne in Paris before joining the National Audiovisual Institute in 2003. She has worked as a scriptwriter and directed the film Dérive (2006).

Published in 2020, Consent is Springora’s first book and describes her relationship with well-known author Gabriel Matzneff when he was 49 and she was 14. It generated much debate in France and has contributed to legal and cultural changes there.
