Margunn Vikingstad

Margunn Vikingstad (b 1971, Norway) is a literary critic and translator who has studied Nordic languages and literature at the University of Oslo.

She was a literary critic in Dag og Tid from 2001 to 2013, and has since been a literary critic for Morgenbladet. In recent years, Vikingstad has combined her work as a critic with translating novels. Her translation of Gustave Flaubert’s Madame Bovary was nominated for both the Critics’ Prize for best translation and the Bastian Prize in 2018.

Vikingstad’s most recent publication is the essay collection Rapportar frå randsonene, which appeared in 2021. She also serves as a programme adviser at the Bergen House of Literature.
