John Erik Riley (b 1970, USA) is a Norwegian author, photographer and publishing editor.

His literary debut came in 1995 with the novel Ikoner i et vindu, eller Sagatid. He has since written non-fiction, short stories, plays and poetry. He was nominated for the Critics’ Prize in 2001 for Mølleland.

Riley has also written for Morgenbladet, Klassekampen, Dagbladet and Aftenposten, as well as Dagens Nyheter in Sweden. He was co-editor of the Vinduet literary magazine from 1998 to 2001.
