Inger Merete Hobbelstad (b 1980, Norway) is a journalist and non-fiction author. With an MA in general comparative literature from the University of Oslo, she has worked for many years as a critic and commentator at Dagbladet

She has published Å leve med Shakespeare (2016), a collection of essays on the plays of William Shakespeare, and Årene med Elizabeth (2019) about Queen Elizabeth II and the British royal family. Her book De greske mytene appeared in 2021. 

Her work as a journalist won her the Arne Hestenes journalist award in 2012 and the Gold Pen of the Society for the Preservation of the Dano-Norwegian Language in 2018.

She became the new culture commentator for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) in 2022.
