Henning Bergsvåg

Helge Skodvin

Henning Bergsvåg (b 1974, Norway) is an author and disseminator of literature. He made his debut in 2000 with the poetry collection Newfoundland, and has since produced a further six collections. The most recent, Dette er ikke et stille sted, won critical praise on its publication in 2020.

His poems have been translated into English, Dutch, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish and, most recently, French in the Revue Nioques literary journal. In 2012, Bergsvåg established Poesidigg, a series of events with readings, meetings and conversations involving national and international poets of the highest calibre and including new voices from Bergen’s underground community.

He has studied at the Academy of Creative Writing in Hordaland and literary composition at the University of Gothenburg.
