What is extremism?

What is actually extremism? Why does somebody become an extremist? And is an extremist the same as a terrorist? What makes somebody willing to sacrifice themself for their beliefs? Can it happen to anyone? Kristian Bjørkelo, author of Ekstremisme, will provide an introduction to the concept.
