Yohan Shanmugaratnam

Yohan Shanmugaratnam (b 1979, Sri Lanka) is a resident of Oslo and a journalist in Klassekampen, where he has worked since 2004.

He published Vi puster fortsatt (Forlaget Manifest), a personal history of growing up, racism and roots, in October 2020.

Shanmugaratnam has a degree in social geography from the University of Oslo. His father is from Sri Lanka, where he himself was born, and his mother comes from Japan. He grew up in Ås after arriving in Norway at the age of six.
