Sigrid Moldestad

Sigrid Moldestad (b 1972, Norway) grew up in Nordfjord and is a folk musician, singer, songwriter and actor.

She made her recording debut in 2007 with Taus, which was inspired by 150-year-old stories of women fiddlers in Nordfjord and which won a Norwegian Grammy. She was named Folk Musician of the Year in 2010.

Moldestad not only writes her own songs but has also set poems to music by such poets as Tove Ditlevsen (Så tag mitt hjerte), Jakob Sande (Eg ser inn i augo dine) and Jan-Magnus Bruheim on her Brevet til kjærleiken album. She has so far issued five solo albums, with the sixth expected in early 2021.
