The art of being different
Nell Irvin Painter started studying art after retiring as professor of history at Princeton. She has written about the experience of being a woman with a long life behind her in the midst of a group of creative young people in her book Old in Art School. Jan Grue has also described what it is like to be almost – but only almost – like everyone else. In Jeg lever et liv som ligner deres, he writes about being an academic, an author, and a wheelchair user.
The two meet for a conversation on body, art and identity, moderated by Per Buvik, professor emeritus in comparative literature.
The conversation will be in English.
