Cristina de la Roche

Cristina de la Roche (b. 1973, Spain) is the international director of the Hay Festival.
She has worked at the Hay Festival since 2005, creating Hay Festival Cartagena de Indias, Colombia and Hay Festival Segovia, Spain in 2006; Hay Festival in Mexico in 2010; Hay Festival Beirut, Lebanon in 2011 (since interrupted), and Hay Festival Arequipa, Perú in 2015.
De la Roche was awarded an honorary OBE in 2019 for her work promoting British culture in Spanish-speaking countries.
She has a Bachelor of Business and Administration from the Autónoma University Madrid in Spain and a Master in Cultural Management from Birkbeck College, London.
