New texts on truth: Johannes Anyuru

The literary magazine Vinduet and LitFestBergen have invited four authors from four different continents (Tishani Doshi, India; Abubakar Adam Ibrahim, Nigeria; Johannes Anyuru, Sweden; Gabriela Wiener, Peru) to write personal essays on the festival theme ‘Truth’.

The first essay is written by Swedish author Johannes Anyuru and explores themes of monstrosity and light, ruins and freedom. Who are we, who have witnessed the suffering in Gaza over the past year and a half? What is the relationship between truth, suffering, and silence?
