Johan Harstad

Johan Harstad (b. 1979, Norway) is a Norwegian author, playwright, and graphic designer based in Oslo. He made his literary debut aged 22 with the short prose collection Herfra blir du bare eldre (2001). His first novel, Buzz Aldrin, hvor ble det av deg i alt mylderet? (2005) has been published in 14 countries, including Germany, France, and the USA.
Harstad has written several plays and was appointed resident playwright at the Norwegian National Theatre in Oslo in 2009.
He has received awards for both his literary work and plays, including Sultprisen, the Dutch Europese Literaturrprijs for the novel Max, Mischa & Tetoffensiven, and the International Ibsen Award.
