Gisela Casimiro (b. 1984, Guinea-Bissau) is a writer, activist, translator and artist, raised and residing in Portugal. She studied language, literature, and culture at NOVA Lisboa. Casimiro is a member of UNA - União Negra das Artes (Union of Black Artists). Her work explores themes such as body and identity, trauma, memory, racism, post-colonialism, and everyday life.
Casimiro writes in multiple literary genres. Her works include the poetry collections Erosão (2018) and Giz (2023), and the play Casa com Árvores Dentro (2022), as well as the autobiographical non-fiction book Estendais (2023).
