Agnes Banach

Agnes Banach (b. 1980, Norway) is a literary scholar, former ballet dancer, and former university lecturer in Polish language and literature at the University of Oslo. She now works full-time as a literary translator.
In 2013, she received the Critics' Prize for her translation of Dagboken 1953–1958 by Witold Gombrowicz. In 2024, Banach was awarded the Bastian Prize in the children's and young adult literature category for her translation from Polish of Sjøens frue (The Lady of the Lake) by Andrzej Sapkowski.
