Eugénie von Tunzelmann

Alex Von Tunzelmann (b 1977, UK) is a historian, screenwriter, and non-fiction author.

She was educated at University College, Oxford and works primarily as a researcher in London.

Her latest book Fallen Idols: Twelve Statues that made History (2021), examines the destruction of statues that were put up by previous generations and whose subjects have now fallen into disrepute, usually because of their colonialist and racist associations. The book was shortlisted for the Wolfson History Prize 2022.
