Greenland author Niviaq Korneliussen won the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 2021 for her novel Naasuliardarpi (Blomsterdalen in Norwegian). The jury’s citation highlighted this work’s “vivid intensity”. It deals with love and friendship, as well as life in a post-colonial society where the suicide rate is record-high. Penetrating to the core of the western debate about identity and marginalisation, the novel represents something unique in Nordic literature.
Korneliussen is interviewed by Heidi Bøhagen, author, writer and programme manager at Bergen’s House of Literature.
In collaboration with the Nordic Council Literature Prize.
Korneliussen will participate virtually and in real time from Greenland. The event will be in Norwegian and Danish.
