Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer

Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer (b 1968, Netherlands) is an author, poet and classical scholar resident in Genoa. 

He has published more than 40 books, including poetry, novels, short stories, plays, essays and translations, and has long been regarded as one of the most distinctive authors in contemporary Dutch literature. His international breakthrough came with Grand Hotel Europa, which has been described as a grandiose, rich and fearless Europe novel.
