Natural wonders II (cancelled)
Surrounded by wolves, elephants, bears, whales, beetles and flowers in the newly-restored Natural History Museum at Muséplass 1, conservation biology professor Anne Sverdrup-Thygeson will talk about the wonders of nature.
Millions of species provide us with food, medicines and a lovable environment in surprising and incredible ways. Sverdrup-Thygeson maintains that we now face a crisis for nature – not just for the climate – and that risks such as pandemics will grow unless they are taken seriously. Her book På naturens skuldre (On the Shoulders of Nature) relates one fantastic story after the other, and she introduces the audience in this lecture to nature’s fine-tuned interactions.
This event will be in Norwegian.
In cooperation with Universitetsmuseet.
