How does somebody become evil?

In his novel Leksikon om lys og mørke, Simon Stranger relates the stories of Norwegian torturer and informer Henry Rinnan, who sent thousands of people to their deaths during the Second World War, and of the Jewish family who moved after the war into the house where his gang had been based. How can we understand the wickedness of Rinnan? And how can a society close its eyes to evil? The author will be interviewed by pupils.
