Inger Merete Hobbelstad

Inger Merete Hobbelstad (b 1980, Norway) is a journalist and non-fiction author. With an MA in general comparative literature from the University of Oslo, she has worked for many years as a critic and commentator at Dagbladet. She has also sought to communicate literary and cultural history through articles, books and lectures. 

Hobbelstad has published Å leve med Shakespeare (2016), a collection of essays on the plays of William Shakespeare, and Årene med Elizabeth (2019) about Queen Elizabeth II and the British royal family. She is also co-author of Norske klassikere (2012). 

Her work as a journalist won her the Arne Hestenes journalist award in 2012 and the Gold Pen of the Society for the Preservation of the Dano-Norwegian Language in 2018.
