Olaug Nilssen

Olaug Nilssen (b 1977, Norway) is an author who made her breakthrough in 2005 with Få meg på, for faen, a book which broke a number of taboos related to young people, women and sexuality.

She has later written books in many genres, making her mark as an important voice in Norwegian literature and public debate.

In her book and play Stort og stygt, Nilssen addresses what it is like to have a child who differs from the others. Tung tids tale (2017) portrays life as the mother of a severely disabled child. She won both the Brage and New Norwegian literature prizes for this book.

Nilssen has also active in the Vagant magazine and served as editor of the Kraftsentrum magazine.
