Writing Desire
How have authors written about sex and desire – and how has this changed over the generations? The shifting ground takes us from the unspoken and suggestive to the direct and explicit, and from shame and taboos to freedom and exploration.
Authors April Alexandersdottir and Vigdis Hjorth meet to discuss how desire, the body, and intimacy can be portrayed in literature – and what boundaries still exist, even in our time. What rules govern writing when the subject matter is the most private of all? Where is the line between art and salaciousness, between experience and fiction?
The conversation will be moderated by author Selma Lønning Aarø and held in Norwegian.
