The Novel as Poetry
Hanne Ørstavik reads and reflects on an excerpt from her own novel. She says:
“I think of poetry as the vertical element in the text, and prose as the linear/horizontal narrative – and that the linear usually takes precedence – but if we do not allow ourselves to fall into the space of the text (to feel it, to experience it), then we are failing not only the text, but most of all ourselves; we are failing that part of us that comes to art to be fulfilled.”
The talk will be held in Norwegian.
