Listen in: Young Voices on the Freedom to Read
Schools and libraries across the United States have faced a wave of book bans, affecting hundreds of titles about race, gender, sexuality, and identity – stories in which young people see themselves and others.
This evening, students from UWC and members of Norsk PEN’s Young Voices Council (Ung Ytring 2030) invite you to join them for a thought-provoking conversation about why free access to literature matters.
The audience is invited, first and foremost, to listen – to take part by being present, attentive, and open to the voices of young people leading this dialogue. What happens when stories disappear? And how can we protect the freedom to read, learn and imagine?
Settle down, enjoy a cup of tea, and listen in on this conversation about the power of literature and the importance of defending it – together.
