Vónbjørt Vang

Vónbjørt Vang (b. 1974, Faroe Islands) is a Faroese author and poet. She is a fascinating voice on the Faroese literary scene.

She has previously published poems and short stories in books and magazines. Her first collection of poems, Millumlendingar [Stopovers] was published in 2011, followed by Djúpini [The Depths] in 2017. Her texts often explore deep human relationships and how these are rooted in time and place. Svørt orkidé [Black Orchid], published in 2023, was the winner of the 2025 Nordic Council Literary Prize.
