Simen Ekern

Simen Ekern (b. 1975, Norway) is a Norwegian journalist and non-fiction writer.
He was awarded the Brage Prize in 2011 for his book Roma. Since 2024 he has worked for the financial newspaper Dagens Næringsliv in Oslo.
In recent years, he has lived in Brussels and Rome, where he has covered European politics and culture for several media outlets, including Dagbladet, TV2, and Morgenbladet.

Ekern is a trained historian of ideas and has for many years been considered one of Norway’s foremost experts on Italy.
