Pedro Carmona-Alvarez
Pedro Carmona-Alvarez (b. 1972, Chile) is a Norwegian author and musician who lives in Bergen.
He made his literary debut with the poetry collection Helter [Heroes], and has subsequently published several poetry collections, novels and essays.
Carmona-Alvarez has served as editor of Cappelen Damm’s new writing anthology Signaler [Signals] as well as Verden finnes ikke på kartet [The World Doesn’t Exist on a Map] (with Gunnar Wærness), an anthology of international contemporary poetry in translation.
His work has been translated into Danish, German, and English, and he has won a number of prizes – including the radio station P2’s Listeners’ Novel Prize, and Riksmålsforbundets Literary Prize for his novel Chiquitita in 2023. He also plays in several bands, including Moonpedro and the Goldfish.
His poetry collection Dobbeltliv [Double Life] was published in 2022.
