Morten Traavik

Morten Traavik (b. 1971, Norway) is a director and artist.
He made his breakthrough as an artist with the Miss Landmine beauty pageants (Angola 2008, and Cambodia 2009), the first in a series of controversial and boundary-breaking art projects.
Traavik has published two books: Djevelen er en fallen engel [The Devil is a Fallen Angel] (2013) and Forræderens guide til Nord-Korea [A Traitor’s Guide to North Korea] (2018). He also co-authored Shabana Rehman’s autobiography Mine ni liv [My Nine Lives], published in 2023.
