Mette Moestrup

Mette Moestrup (b. 1969, Denmark) is an award-winning, critically acclaimed Danish poet and writer. She grew up in North Jutland and now lives in Copenhagen.
Moestrup made her debut in 1998 and has since published six poetry collections, most recently Butterfly Nebula (2025). She has also published a novel, two children’s books, and two works with other authors.

For her writing she has received a large number of prizes, grants and prizes, including Montanas literature award, the Emil Aarestrup Medaillen, the Beatrice Prisen, and the Danish Arts Foundation’s Lifetime Honorary Grant. Her poetry has been translated into Norwegian, Swedish, English and German. She also works as a translator, most recently on a Danish translation of Sappho, and her practice also encompasses performance, multimedia, essay writing, teaching and mentoring.
