Hilde Kvalvaag

Hilde K. Kvalvaag (b. 1968, Norway) is an author, journalist, and editor.

She studied social anthropology at the University of Bergen and works at the university’s Faculty of Art, Music and Design.

Kvalvaag debuted with her young adult fiction novel Hjarteklapp [Heart-throb] in 2003. She later wrote for both young adults and adults. She was awarded the Brage Prize for her young adult novel Fengsla [Imprisoned] (2010). In 2008 she released Skagerrak, her first novel for adults, for which she was awarded the Samlagprisen. Her novel Djuphavsslettene [Deep-Sea Plains] was published in 2021.

Many of her books have been translated into German.
