Henning Bergsvåg

Helge Skodvin

Henning Bergsvåg (b. 1974, Norway) is an author and literature advocate. He studied at the Skrivekunstakademiet writing school in Hordaland and at the University of Gothenburg. Bergsvåg debuted in 2000 with the poetry collection Newfoundland, and has since produced a further six collections. The most recent, Dette er ikke et stille sted [This is not a Quiet Place], was praised by critics on its publication in 2020.

Bergsvåg’s poems have been translated into several languages. In 2012, he founded Poesidigg, a series of events with readings, gatherings and conversations involving national and international poets of the highest calibre and including new voices from Bergen’s underground scene.
