Eirik Kristoffersen
General Eirik Johan Kristoffersen (b. 1969, Norway) has served as Norway’s Chief of Defence since 2020. He began his military career in 1988, initially as a non-commissioned officer cadet, and graduated from the Command and Staff College in 1995. Over the course of his career, Kristoffersen has held a number of senior leadership positions. He served for many years in the Norwegian Special Operations Command (FSK), including as commander, was deputy commander of the same unit, and has held posts at the Norwegian Armed Forces Joint Operational Headquarters. He has also served as Chief of the Home Guard (2017–2019) and Chief of the Army (2019–2020).
