The truth from inside the walls

What is the truth about a convict? Author and librarian at Bergen Prison, Eivind Riise Hauge, has organised a writing course for prison inmates with the festival theme of ‘truth’. Riise Hauge is bringing some of the course participants to LitFestBergen to talk about truth and what it means for inmates to be able to express themselves through writing. 

There are few places where the truth is put to the test more than in a criminal case, where judges assess evidence and testimony to determine what actually happened.Is there always a truth about an offence and the motive behind it? And how does the offender himself or herself feel about society creating their own story about the criminal?
