The Critics' Seminar: The Critic's Obligations and Pitfalls

How do we read and criticise poetry from languages other than European? What is lost in recasting, reading - and criticising - from one context to another? And is it the critic's responsibility to read up and acquire a broader cultural understanding?

Panel discussion with critic and translator Rebecka Kärde (Dagens Nyheter), commentator and critic Ingunn Økland (Aftenposten), and  social commentator, literary critic and poet Sumaya Jirde Ali. The programme will be chaired by critic and publisher Margunn Vikingstad (Morgenbladet).
