Plagiarism! Cheating!
Perhaps it is both easier to plagiarise and easier to be caught plagiarising today than it was when the word plagiarus, meaning kidnapper, was first used in the first century BC. In recent times, the Norwegian public has been preoccupied with some politicians' master's theses and so-called self-plagiarism. What about other academic cheating, such as fictitious research results?
Author and journalist Sandra Lillebø has experienced plagiarism herself. She meets Professor of Literature Gisle Selnes, who has taken up the issue of plagiarism, and Vigdis Vandvik, professor of social ecology, for a conversation about plagiarism and other cheating in academia and in literature, led by lawyer and copyright specialist Magnus Thomassen.
The event is free, but get your free ticket on ticketco to secure your spot.
In collaboration with the Society for the Advancement of Knowledge.
The conversation is in Norwegian.
