Opening of LitFestBergen 2025 (SOLD OUT)

Welcome to the official opening of Bergen International Literary Festival 2025! The seventh festival in a row will be opened by Minister of culture and equality, Lubna Jaffery.

Truth is the theme this year, and at the opening the audience will get a taste of this year's programme of poetry, music and drama.

Truth is the theme this year, and at the opening the audience will get a taste of this year's programme of poetry, music and drama.

As a taste of what is to come this festival, there will be an excerpt from the play The Trigger System by Transiteatret-Bergen, poet Sumaya Jirde Ali will recite from her own work, Tishani Doshi will read an excerpt from her new essay on truth (video), and the band Sharqant will serenade us with their beautiful music. Speech by the city council leader in Bergen, Christine Meyer and festival director Teresa Grøtan. The master of ceremonies is the head of The House of Literature, Hjørdis Losnedahl. 

The event will be in Norwegian and English.
