Einar Økland

Einar Økland (b. 1940, Norway) is a Norwegian essayist, poet, playwright, author, and critic. Økland debuted as a poet with the collection Ein gul dag in 1963. He is considered one of the most versatile and original writers in Norwegian literature, having published over 80 books across multiple genres. He has received numerous awards, including the Dobloug Prize and Gyldendalprisen.
Økland was the festival poet at the De Litterære Festspill and is an honorary member of Det Norske Samlaget.
